About Us
Acadia Cottage Rentals is owned and operated by Tom & Mary Simons, 18-year residents of Bar Harbor, cottage owners and eager explorers of Acadia along with Tagalong & SamIam (our mother & son Australian Shepherds). Prior to owning ACR, we built a chain of video stores in the 80's & 90's in NC, KY & OH, Tom served as General Manager of the Northeast Harbor Golf Club for many years, and Mary has worn the uniform of an Acadia Nat'l Park Ranger in recent years. Son Alan works in the village of Bar Harbor and often helps with our Saturday transitions, visiting cottages scheduled for new arrivals.
We've always loved the cottage experience, designed and built our own (Acorn Cottage in Bar Harbor), and now really enjoy placing our clients in the right cottage for their Acadia adventures. We visit all or listings frequently and take pride in knowing as much as possible about our listings, answering questions.
