This very special home has been a family gathering place for decades. With many recent improvements and remodel projects, it's ready for your extended family to vacation together under one roof and enjoy a spectacular location on the shore of Frenchman's Bay. About 7 miles north of the village of Bar Harbor and 5 from the Park Visitor Center in Hulls Cove, it's convenient to the attractions of Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island, while being extremely private. Park-like grounds feature a story-book stone overlook on the expanse of the Bay where you can welcome the summer sunrise over the water or watch the light on the distant hills color and fade in the evening twilight.

The house has three levels: on the lower floor, there is a bright bedroom suite, with eastern views of the water (great for sunrises), a queen bedroom with beautiful stone fireplace, sitting room with daybed and patio/yard access, full kitchen and full tiled shower/tub bathroom.

The main floor has a large living room with wonderful large granite fireplace, cathedral ceiling, built-in shelves with hundreds of books, and comfortable furnishings; attached is a "card room" with windows all around, great for family cards and games competitions; on the east is the sun porch, overlooking the ocean; a huge family kitchen, fully-equipped and featuring water views, cathedral ceiling and large island; four bedrooms of all sizes are on the main floor, including three with attached bathrooms (1 with claw-foot tub, 2 with showers); one is a large suite with water views and custom built-in desk area and walk-in shower. Beds are 1 double, 2 twins, that can make a king, 2 twins (trundle) that can also become a king, and a queen in the suite. Finally a new laundry pair is in it's own closet off the hallway. The main floor is wheelchair accessible from an entry off the parking area.

Upstairs are 2 large bedrooms, wood-paneled and gabled ceilings, one with a double bed, the other with a set of bunks and a single, and two window seats complete the upstairs. (No bathroom upstairs).

You can bring as many as 12 family members and still have plenty of room, and even bring a pet or two.
